The Main Attractions of Jakarta The Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta is the largest in South East Asia and is located not far from the Presidential Palace where the former Dutch Governor-Generals have resided. From there, the Monas Monument, a landmark of the city marked by a flame made of real gold. Towards the North is the China Town with its congested business streets of the old Jakarta.
